i think someone on wikipedia was just taking **** with that 1.99m because the wolves site says he's 1.83m (6'0") which would make him a short keeper and wenger doesn't usually like them.

Wenger nearly signed that uruguayan guy - Seb Viera? - and he is a short arse, about 184cm.

I would guess he bases his decions on talent ultimately.

He's a superb shot stopper.
So is Almunia. One of his greatest strengths in my opinion. I just don't see this happening. Wenger has shown his belief in Almunia, and so far this season, and a lot of last season, he has been repaid for that. He isn't the best out there, but realistically I don't think there is anyone available who we could get and who would be a big enough improvement over Almunia to justify the expense in bringing him in. And I certainly don't think it's this guy. I very much doubt we would spend that money to bring in someone to sit on the bench after seeing what Fabianski may be capable of too.

if we're gonna spend the money to get someone better than Manny, why not go for broke and try to get Buffon? LOL

heard Hiledbrand is unhappy where he is.. i reember he was the next big thing, and he sort of disappeared...

He is very poor now, no point in getting Hildebrand.

Even Henessy is better

Arsenal sent a scout to watch Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey keep a clean sheet during his side's 1-0 victory at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

But the Molineux board are likely to resist any move for the 21-year-old, or any of their best players, when the January window opens.

The £6million-rated Wales international has four years left on his contract and has also been monitored by Tottenham.

But Arsenal are thought to be long-term admirers after regularly sending representatives to Wolves matches last season.

I think Hennessey is going to be a truly World class goalkeeper in a couple of years.

A better long-term option than Fabianski?
