Wayne Rooney and His Hold Over English Football

I guess it looks better to say "13 weeks" rather than "more than 3 months". If he really believe that football is a results business he should have no problem accepting the decision. 10 points in 15 games after taking over a team that was 6th when he arrived is absolutely horribIe.

Wayne Rooney to replace Ten Hag at Manchester United. Guide them to 20th position.
Didn't know that Ashley Cole and John O Shea, were part of the Backroom Staff.
Wonder it Ashley swerved his car off the road, as he left the car park.

Not all great players turn out great managers. Also I refuse to believe Rooney only 38 he look 58

The mind boggles that this guy keeps getting managerial jobs at fairly high levels.

21st place Plymouth and Derby going through administration is high level? Compare that to the likes of Lampard who were given league leading roles and loan deals from premier league clubs in a silver platter.

I mean he shouldn’t really be getting that even.

His time at Birmingham City was grim.

Absolutely the Championship is a 'fairly high level'.

The guy has nothing to recommend him as a manager other than that he was good at kicking a football 15 years ago. He's never worked under a competent manager and earned his stripes. He's mostly just been arrested for being a drunk since his retirement. He's had three management stints now and they've all been disasters, with the Birmingham City stint being one of the most embarrassing managerial terms in the recent history of the sport.

And still a team in a prominent league hired him despite there probably being literally a thousand more qualified people in the UK to manage their team.

I'll give Rooney one thing. I thought he handled himself in very good way at Derby with all the troubles they had. He could easily have walked away from it all. I think at some point they had 13 players on the books.

Plymouth losing 6 - 1, at Norwich City, last night. Would be surprised if Wayne Rooney is still the Plymouth manager, come the end of the season. Heard reports that the Plymouth team took a plane to Norwich, to get the players better prepared for the game, rather than having a longer coach trip.
I am not being funny, Wayne Rooney has altered, since he played. Doesn't look like a manager of a Championship Football Team. Not sure if he would inspire me.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
