What makes an Arsenal player a club legend?

I kinda agree & it certainly leaves a bad taste.
However let's be honest they left because we weren't good enough to match their talent.
Top pros want to win & we were not even seriously competing let along winning big honours.

As somebody else said I'm sure Paddy or even Thierry would have left sooner if we weren't winning things.

Ok I will accept the view that the way you leave plays a part.

But in a way the main factor that could deny them legendary status was simply the team not being good enough.
If the team was better & able to fulfil their ambitions it's a different convo

Tbf to Roberto he is very much a back up & has far better hair than mustafi. He also cost less than a 10th of the price.

So all in all a better buy than Mustafi imho.

Obviously I haven't seen most of these guys play but I've seen footage and spoke to fans who did see them and rated them very highly or they're just from so far back that we're just going by stats, achievements and how the were viewed back in the day etc.

If you were face to face with Xhaka would you have called him Chernobyl, or tell him that he has slavic roots (which is a very big offence actually if we look at the historic context). What makes you think that you have a right as a fan to insult a player and he does not have the right to tell you **** off? As you said f off is an expression that is commonly used in English language and you hear it everywhere, so it is not a big insult actually, imo. For example in my language and culture, that kind of expression is not normal to use it everywhere.

Therein lies part of the issue, Farzy.

He is of Albanian origin or roots with a Swiss passport, and calling Xhaka to have Slavic roots is so far from reality, that it is very insulting to those people. It has similarities of when you hate people calling you American, or when @jones doesn't want to be referred to as German.
