He's really not ready for the first team it seems. Wasn't in the first team squad for Fulham even though not injured and we had no CB on bench

If people didn't label him as "the Mbappe of defenders" after watching him two times on YouTube, you would understand why a 19 year old is getting eased into the toughest league in the world.

Exactly this is not a surprise to anyone with a working brain. Some of us were saying until we were blue in the face that Saliba would need an adjusting period when everyone thought he'd just waltz into the starting 11. Arteta knows that just chucking a 19 year old into the deep end of the PL especially after little game time with how the French league ended could have disastrous consequences. And on that note thank **** it's Arteta managing this situation and not Emery who threw Guendouzi into the deep end and never developed even slightly as a player as a result of it.

but Holding’s hair transplant was painless
think he could be eased into the team as part of a back 3. Would rather give him game time than Holding.

Important to remember that he only played 10-12 games last season. Would have been differet had he played a full season even though he would still have needed time.

Yeah the blame for that goes to the keeper. Not great he misplaced the pass but the keeper just had to narrow the angle, player already outside the posts heading towards byline

If he isn’t fully ready better to let the lad sit. We are not desperate in need for a CB. There will be plenty of cup games where he can be eased in.

Mistake there wasn't the pass, but the poor defensive awareness. Should have been able to track that run, but these are the kind of mistakes you'd expect him to make at this stage, not a big deal.

Pretty obvious that Gabriel has been better in training or something, because Saliba has been here for much longer already.

Saliba is so young so I rather he makes these mistakes first in unimportant games. He surely seems ambitious so will curse himself for a while and learn fast.

Making the mistakes in important games would easily be devastating for such a young CB. That's why 3 atb seems a good option for some time even for Gabriel, he isn't too old either.

It's pretty obvious that he is going to be world class in the future. Only injuries can stop it from happening. Him and Saka are the future of Arsenal.

Yeah, Gabriel is a CL CB with 3ish years in Saliba (and still he's inexperienced!) So not surprised Saliba isn't ready

For those who aren't aware, Saliba is 19. He's a top prospect. There's no need for him to be starting 30+ games yet. We also recently signed Gabriel, who is just 22. Gabriel will also need an adjustment period and there is no reason for him to be playing 30+ games yet either.

Patience guys, come January we'll have an inevitable injury crisis and both will be playing week in and week out regardless.

This Saliba transfer might be another one of Raul's dodgy deals like Pepe. I'll keep my eyes peeled and be patient with him but it smells fishy.
