Saliba is going to stay, it would be so stupid to let him go. When you have a pair of defenders like Gabriel and Saliba, you make sure that they don't want to go elsewhere, you keep them.

Also it's in his best interests to stay here. 2nd in the league, CL, he's established himself as a first team player, he is showing the world he can do it in the biggest league in the world, yet still has tonnes to learn.

Hes perfectly placed to continue with us and then 3 or 4 years when he's fully developed or close to his best version of himself, try to push for the absolute top like Madrid.

This is the perfect step for his career. He's just pushing for an extra few quid. Which is fair enough but we need to cap the level at around 200k. All this, you'd have to pay more for his replacement and all doesn't wash with me as that's the case for all our players. We need to give the players a rise but in a sensible fashion.

Look at the impact he’s had on all those players you’ve mentioned since Arteta finally gave him a chance.

He’s been an Arsenal player longer than all of them btw and proved his fitness for the best part of 4 seasons of top flight football.
Last season Arsenal conceded 48 goals, this season 43 goals. Although there are multiple factors to consider for both sides of the argument. And no, I'm not saying Saliba wasn't great in his first season, just that it hasn't been a huge difference compared to when White and Tomiyasu played the earlier season.

It's not about how long a player has been at the club, as youth players can have been there for a decade.

Saliba deserves most of his wage raise in regards to experience because of his Marseille season and this season, full seasons at top level. For example White has 3 seasons in EPL already, plus a Championship winning season. White's Championship season had 4100 minutes, which is a similar amount as Saliba's 3 first seasons in Ligue 1.

So White has one more full season under his belt, and basically two seasons more in EPL which means a higher level. But he will get bigger wage than White because his contract is ending, potential, and White needs a renewal during next year too.

When he and Gabriel were fit I felt confident every game. He is a rolls royce of a player and we need to dig really deep to keep him. All this investment, transfe fees, paying Özil and PEA to F off, Saka, Martinelli contracts ect. Saliba is central to making it all come together

Don't see that contract being a problem. That is clearly a case of the club and player wanting the same. The pecuniaries will sort themselves out

Edu can't literally force the lad to sign if he doesn't want to.

You would blame Edu for Saliba sitting down with his agent looking 300k a week?

Salibas been offered a contract. At the moment hes binding his time. Letting the clock tick. Its a game of poker where Saliba has pocket aces and the club (not just Edu) are in a difficult position.

I believe if the club offer him 200k a week and he DOESNT sign then that's on him. He's in it for the money let him go to PSG and eat frogs legs. Everyone wants the best deal but **** me 21, new to the league 200k on the table. On par with Saka.

Knowing Arsenal they not gonna extend him or sell him. It’s so clear he will walk free

Guy got one scoop on Rice and now doesn’t shut the **** up.
99% of twitter know as much as you and I.

Salibas been offered a deal and he wants more money. That's what we know. There's no chance Saliba hasn't had a contract on the table.

Again that's fair enough it's a game of poker. But one that we must be willing to fold. Saliba is brilliant. One of the best CB in the PL. But at the same time, he's 21, only has 25-30 games in the PL under his belt, and has a back that Quasimodo wouldn't fancy. 180-200k a week is a fair amount with a review and incentives thrown in.

If him and his agent want to join the 300k a week club then the clubs hands are tied.

Tbf if he doesn’t renew we’re totally f*cked. Absolutely no way we find someone as good for 30m, you’d have to spend 2 or 3 times that much and it would derail other targets. Him being here for at least like 5 years is one of the fundamental pillars of this whole project.
