We haven't lost a player we didn't want since Snake Persie. Man Utd held off Real for Yoro by showing him and his club the money. Show Saliba the money and he will sign.

Yoro's probably crying himself to sleep every night knowing he blew his chance to go to Real.

He's no Mbappe where they'll consider giving him another glance

And he might have some talent but he'll waste his potential at utd. They've turned into a proper talent graveyard. Bad culture and no great senior players to learn from.

I do think we have the best duo on the world with Gabriel and Saliba not because we are an Arsenal fan. we really need to keep them at all costs together.

It's absolutely astounding how things have gone pear-shaped for them since Fergie left.

Mind you, I hope it continues indefinitely

I believe it all depends what we do in the summer. Spend £200m on a midfielder, right winger and striker and he may sign.
You want to spend money on a right winger, when we have Saka and Nwaneri? I think our transfer budget is better spend in other areas such as cm and a striker.

Real won't be coming in with a massive bid, they've changed their strategy.

They'll be tapping him up to get him to move to them on a free transfer, or at least make Saliba tell Arsenal he won't extend so we have to accept a lowball offer from them.

Hopefully he resists and signs a new contract. I think he will.

Maybe we could also give him a contract with some sort of high but reasonable relase clause. So if we go another year without winning anything major he could leave but for a good fee. Good for both parties potentially.

Ideally we show some ambition in the summer and convince him we are serious though. I hope we are but it's hard to know with the people running our club. There should be a good amount of money to spend this year after last summer and january.

Can they afford to be patient? They need CB's now. The ones they have are old or always injured.

I'd go for Murillo to replace him, but he's left footed so it would probably only work if we put Big Gab up front. At least it would solve the lack of goals.

Really not the end of the world if we sell him, he’s a great player but I don’t think he’s irreplaceable.

Would be disappointing if he wanted to go but you really couldn’t blame him. 3 years of disappointment here while there is an exciting project going on with the best players in the world at Real winning titles every season. Would be a massive show of loyalty for him to renew and stay on at this point.

If he' smart, he's sent out people to let Don Perez that he's tired of being on the losing side & wants to move this summer.

You can see the influence of not just the Bosman rule but the USA sports market.

Long contracts for players over market value at signing so long term punt by club. The other shorter contracts that once into the last 12 months the player will simply look at offers and opt for free agency and lucrative signing on fees.

If Saliba has any sense, he’ll not sign an extension until he sees what we do next season. If we buy the players we need and win the PL or CL, he can sign a big contract. If not he does a Trent Alexander and joins Madrid on a free in summer 2027, age 25.

If we don’t buy the players to win trophies, we will lose players, it’s a simple fact. Eventually that could include Saka.

I’d almost let him leave on a free in 2027.

PL clubs have so much spending power the two seasons he’d give us would be of bigger value tbh.

Plenty of time to buy a successor. Key is he stays this summer which lets us put out existing fires.
Alternatively, the club buys the players we need to win trophies, and players like Saliba don’t even think about leaving.
