Nice of him to let you know.

I don't think any of them are irreplaceable though, maybe Ødegaard. I just don't think Saliba is this amazing best CB in the world like others do, Gabriel is better imo and more of a leader. You can play it cool, but you are aware that if we lose any combination of the Saka/Ødegaard/Saliba trio this player cycle is done and we're starting from scratch?
The remainder of the squad is mostly overpriced lumberjacks.

I don't really get how Saliba is world class but Gabriel isn't, just more of the popularity contest really.Fairs. For me Saliba is like the only player who’s comfortably world class in the team with the others being debatable. Whilst im a big Gabriel fan, Saliba is comfortably above.
He’s gone a bit wonky ever since the Madrid rumours, but we’ve not played our best football so perhaps coincidence.

You think everything is a popularity contest though. Gabriel sneaks into the WC debate for me. Standard have dropped anyway, 20 years ago people would’ve laughed at Gabriel being considered WC.I don't really get how Saliba is world class but Gabriel isn't, just more of the popularity contest really.
They are very close, Gabriel is a bit looser in possession and can have bozo moments but makes up for it with his aerial threat and leadership.I don't really get how Saliba is world class but Gabriel isn't, just more of the popularity contest really.
That’s because everything is a popularity contest, it’s rare to find people as objective and immune to influence as myself. You think everything is a popularity contest though. When Saliba has bozo moments it gets swept under the rug but Gabriel gets labelled, this is why I’m suspicious of how people rate Saliba. They are very close, Gabriel is a bit looser in possession and can have bozo moments but makes up for it with his aerial threat and leadership.
Saliba is better due to his potential, composure and on the ball ability but I don’t think he’s clear. If Saliba is WC then Gab is in the conversation at least.
Lol we get it you’re contrarian but you’re going too far with this one.I don't really get how Saliba is world class but Gabriel isn't, just more of the popularity contest really.
I genuinely don’t think there is much between them, Gabriel is also one of the best in the world.Lol we get it you’re contrarian but you’re going too far with this one.
I love Gabriel and he’s a top player but Saliba is arguably the best CB in the world. He does things with so much comfortability. Of course he makes some errors but every single CB does.
Don’t disagree with your second point there. But Saliba is so comfortable at everything he does, it seems a level below him at times. Out of the 2 players I have more confidence in saliba looking world class in a different team or set up.I genuinely don’t think there is much between them, Gabriel is also one of the best in the world.
With Saliba his age essentially excuses it, with Gabriel people (maybe unfairly) decide it’s a pattern. When Saliba has bozo moments it gets swept under the rug but Gabriel gets labelled, this is why I’m suspicious of how people rate Saliba.
Based on what?Best CB duo in the world right now, imo. No matter how much people hype up that Liverpool duo. Ours is better.
Both our CB's are better than Konate, imo. Van Dijk is still pretty good, but not as good as he used to be.Based on what?
They’re statistically the best defence in the league. Let’s see what the numbers say when everyone has played everyone at least once.
