William Saliba: Rolls Royce

Nah, no one gives the quality he does. Yes you can play White there, or even Tomiyasu and they will do the work, but both of them won't give the security and football Saliba is giving to the team. We face city without him and we don't survive.
I don’t quite agree with this. He is generational and the biggest talent at Arsenal, and over the course of a season we would lose a decent number of points without him, but we also have other players who can play that rcb position with a bit of time. I think managers like Arteta (when they have good tools) have ways of planning around the loss of high value skill sets, Arsenal would alter their game plan. It would be a different and it wouldn’t be as good but I don’t think it would be as clear as suddenly getting rolled by city

Its got to the stage were the best singings we can make are new contracts for existing players. I wouldn't mind paying higher wage fees even if it means eating into summer transfer budgets.

Saliba along with Saka are two players who we might need to offer 300-400k a week in their next contracts.

We are independently wealthy as a club plus Stan and Josh are among the richest non-state owners in the PL.

Who knows What Real Madrid are up to. But at a minimum we will get to sit down with Saliba and offer him a new deal. And I think we offer him a bumper deal, I think he extends. Arteta also has a pull over the players, they all seem to buy into his ways and we haven't had one player ask to leave for a long time.

Maybe

You're wrong, no?

Should be fine, we've offered that money for half players like Özil and Auba with smaller revenue. Think we are in a great position to keep top players

I don't think Real pay their players insane tier wages though? So that would be something we should be able to match to keep our best of the best. like Vinicius is on apparently 400k euros a week and he's maybe a top 3 attacker in the world for multiple seasons, those tend to command the highest wages of them all. That's obviously a lot but also not crazy.

Slipped and conceded a pen, then gave the ball away before Belgium scored. Rare unreliable game from him.
He’s a player who played a lot of football. I worry for him as he looks mentally fatigued

if we go by the theory that defending is a collective effort depending on an internal(ised) structure (as opposed to being a function of individual brilliance), then maybe this is because he isn't playing with his preferred CB partner and midfield.

Everyone has a bad game sometimes. For defenders and goalkeepers, it often results in conceding goals. I believe Saliba will just keep his head up and come back stronger than ever.

VVD's career is littered with mares. Likes of Ramos even. They all had bad days.
VVD at the same age of Saliba was having bad games for Celtic in the SPL, and the only big club interested in him was Southampton.
Saliba vs a 23 year old VVD isn’t even a fair comparison, Saliba is miles clear of him.

Arsenal Quotes

It’s not impossible to go through a season unbeaten and I can’t see why it’s shocking to say that.
