William Saliba: Rolls Royce

I think it's fair to point out Saliba's areas to improve. Rice has them, Saka does too.

For him it's been a fairly average season by his high standards.

He has all the bells and whistles because he's a top footballer, but there are some more basic areas he can brush up on and perfect.

I don't think it's fair to call him overrated, he will be top, top class but no matter how talented you are there are some things you have to learn on the job.

It's imperative we get him tied down to a new contract. The partnership he and Gabriel have is brilliant.

He was one of the best CBs in the league for a good number of seasons. A lot of strikers talked about how he was the hardest defender to play against. Regular starter for France as well. And an FA Cup hero for Arsenal. Deserves a lot of respect.
I rate Kos too, Had a lot of growing pains when he came in England, but he eventually matured and had to do the hard job in that partnership he had with Per, because BFG would be the first to meet the attacker, and if he wouldn't get the ball it was up to Kos to fix the situation.

Definitely one of our best defenders that had to play along some real awful players, like Squillaci, Silvestre, Mustafi etc.

He was a good player no doubt but never elite. Don’t think it’s disrespectful to state facts ie he’s not on the level of the players I mentioned. Saliba is well on his way and already hit heights in performance that Kos never did.

Kos and Per was a good partnership but Per was the leader and the brains of that unit.

Kos, good athlete, nice pace, good tackler but way too much of what did has last ditch stuff. It was eyecatching but you only but yourself in those positions when you've made a positional or reading of game error.

Compare it to Per, as slow as a snail but how many times was his slowness exposed or did you even see him need to go into a challenge? Rarely because he could read the game exceptionally well.

I remember Maldini saying years back they if he had to make a tackle it was because he made a mistake.

Koscielny was awful in every partnership unless Per was there to hold his hand.

The fact Arsenal fans rate a loser like Koscielny shows how far the standards fell.

Says the one guy going to war for Kai Havertz of all people 😅

Kai Havertz CL winner who scored in the final? Arsenal fans standards aren’t that high.

What's that for to do with Arsenal ffs?

Must of missed that when he went missing in both legs for us v an average Bayern side last year and literally single handedly costing us the cup game v United this year lol.

We would’ve won the league last year if he played striker earlier and this year if he never got injured though.

Not to mention he’s gotta play with a midfield of one guy who can never do a through ball and another who people think has some sort of disease. He was a one man army out there.

I always find it weird when Arsenal fans say Kos was overrated, like how was he?

No one thinks he's a great player, he was just a good one who's career ended poorly here (some his fault, some the club's fault)

No one is saying he's Adams or Campbell at the back, but he served the club well and played his part in ending our long trophy drought.

And considering his part in the 2011 cup defeat that extended our long wait for silverware back then...for him to not give up here, give everything for Wenger, play in a team that beat Sp**s/a very inform Everton/a Pool side with Suarez and Sturridge firing and even scoring in the final itself.

I just think he deserves some credit from the fanbase 🤷‍♂️

give everything for Wenger,
If it wasn’t for Wenger Koscielny would’ve spent his whole career in Ligue 2.

I don’t even understand how he gave everything for Wenger he was literally doing his job. If anything he let Wenger down numerous times, might’ve had a European trophy if Laurent didn’t kick the ball in his own face.

It's noted Kos played through ankle injuries and on painkillers for Arsène.

Swings and roundabouts, without Kos Wenger might ne the record FA cup winner.

He should’ve retired then but no he was too greedy and forced us to suffer.

Any news on his injury? He looked miserable on the pitch after the final whistle.
