We can still get CL, even this season - with Merino upfront. It’s genuinely not that deep.
And a squad full of left backs.

Liverpool won it when they couldn’t even finish in the top 4. Winning a cup comp is fine but has an element of luck, winning the league is awesome, but going a whole season unbeaten is stratospheric.

Wtf is this list

If you remove the boomer nostalgia picks and added prime Man City the Invincibles would probably be 3rd or 4th which seems fair.

The unbeaten thing is not rated as highly by opposing fans

Yeah when i talk to other teams fans about Arsenal they tend to view it as a really cool addition to the PL title, not something separate really.

CL is the best trophy in club football to the vast majority of fans.

Porto won the champions league. Meaning anyone in the tournament can win it. Will it happen? Not one the modern era with teams like Madrid or City/Bayern lurking but **** that noise. Going unbeaten is not something that happens every year.

European Cup is still the most prestigious trophy to win in football after the World Cup. This club’s lack of European pedigree has counted against us in previous years but it’s high time we focused on winning this and doing everything we can to do so.

Chelsea went through a run early in Mourinho’s time where they were consistently making semi finals before finally winning it. We need a similar level of focus

Can we have both? Chelsea finished 2nd in the 'Invincibles' season, having lost 7 games. If we had say lost one game, we would still have won the league, but wouldn't be classed as 'Invincibles'. Then have the Champions League as well. 😀

Yes. I had already seen us win two phenomenal doubles & was desperate for us to win a CL title. I'd sacrifice the Invincible title for a CL that season in a heartbeat!!

Even should we win the CL somewhere down the line, it will not mean as much to me as it would've had Wenger & that team won it.

Definitely. An invincible season is cool, but fundamentally arbitrary and meaningless. 90 points doesn't even win you every premier league title there's been. The games about trophies, I consider double winning seasons to be a greater success.

Having no CL is a huge counter argument for us existing at the big table of truly elite clubs - we desperately need one I think.

No CL is quite a big stain on the club let’s be honest here. We’d still comfortably be the third biggest domestic club with no invincible season.

When people call us one of the biggest clubs in Europe (we are by most metrics) it sometimes feel a bit dubious because of our lack of European success (in general).
Agree.

Realise this will be a very unpopular opinion on here but I think there's a serious argument that Chelsea are a bigger club than Arsenal nowadays simply because of their European pedigree (even if they won the Russian oligarch lottery). Having said that, if we won the CL this season, I'd consider us unquestionably the 3rd biggest club in England.

Definitely wouldn't swap. If we keep progressing we'll win the ECL eventually, and its very unlikely any other club will win the league unbeaten while I am alive.

Obviously winning the Champions League is huge. It's the trophy that has eluded the club and it's that final step missing to truly join the elite clubs in Europe.
It would've certainly helped the trajectory of the club more than that unbeaten league title.

But from a historical and emotional point of view that Invincible season is worth much more. It will stay forever with the people who experienced it and it will be referenced for decades until another club manages to do the same which might not happen for a long time.

Arsenal Quotes

The club changed so much, I changed with it and football has changed with us... But one thing never changes: the 90 minutes still belong to the player, 90 minutes during which he is king.
