To be honest I haven't been impressed by any of the players in this final. Pogba and Thauvin are the only ones that stand out a little bit but overall it's just been a bad game imo.

I dont think he played badly in final at all. He moved well, was good target man (getting the ball, passing it without complicating)... France didnt creat much so we couldnt expect a lot from him. Should have reacted better on that brilliant ball from Kondogbia, and sometimes tried too much but I give that to fact he wasnt served at all so you try to make it on your own, and he doesnt look like someone who could dribble 2 players and score... There was nothing special too see about him but hey, he won WC, was starting striker, scored some goals, our scouts speak good about him, and we got him for free. Looks like that scum of player we once had, but time will tell. I am glad we got him cause of free transfer, and fact he aint some really really unknown talent

Who'd have thought that an injury prone player would pick up injuries? It's not as if we've had injury prone players before. It doesn't matter anyway, our other signings are still fit and ready for the season.

The stone that the builders refuse
According to Jeorge Bird, Sanogo trained with the 1st team today and will likely be on the bench tomorrow. Good news.

Would be ideal for him to be loaned at Ajax and let Dennis teach him a thing or two about technique. But alas, we are too thin at the moment.

I actually thought he looked better than Giroud in that game, but I am probably the only one.

He was involved in some nice one touch passing, his first touch let him down a few times but most of those times he then battled back and won the ball. I also like that he is constantly moving and pressures the other team when they have the ball.

I struggle to think of anything Giroud did right yesterday.

He's a pure Wenger project player. Looks like he has some good attributes but he's got fvck all match experience from being injured so much. He's the same age as Ox but has played significantly less games. Definitely doesn't look like he's ready to contribute anything much this season. Only at Arsenal would he be on the bench for league games this early in the season.

Wenger needs to understand that whilst youth development should indeed be the basis upon which a club is built, however we should only be promoting/signing extraordinary youth players. The club is not a creche where young players are able to learn their trade with no regret. The youngsters that should be included are those who are already good enough to perform.

There are countless youngsters, such as Vela, Coquelin and even Sanogo who have the talent to play for Arsenal in the future, but are far from producing their best form. Many players don't breakthrough until they are 25, because they need the experience and game time to develop their talent. It's those type of players who we have wasted valuable time on, when they should have been playing elsewhere. Someone like Sanogo should be let go on a long term loan for a couple of years where he can play without pressure, and then be resigned once and if he is ready. We shouldn't have to be subjected to his trial and error development.

It's the same with Ryo, he has plenty of raw tools but he's clearly not ready. He should have stayed at Feyenoord for a couple of seasons, and then when he's 23/24, bring him back.

He doesn't look much different to the likes of Akpom or even Afobe.

He did look extremely nervous though, hard to judge.

He looked horrendous, but it may have been the nerves. In any case, he shouldn't be here. We should send him on loan for a few years.

I think Chelsea have it right. Send players on a prolonged loan spell, like Courtois and only recall once ready and when needed.
