Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk claims the Ivory Coast midfielder could form part of the deal to bring Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas back to Barcelona this summer.

Toure has long been linked with a move to England with Manchester City, captained by older brother Kolo, thought to be leading the race for his signature.

City's cross-town rivals Manchester United are also reportedly interested, while Kolo's former club Arsenal have been monitoring him for several years.

Last week Arsenal rejected a £29million (35million euros) offer from Barcelona for Fabregas as they look to keep hold of the Spain international but if Toure is thrown into the mix as part of an improved bid, the Gunners could reconsider.

Seluk has previously revealed that a move to the Barclays Premier League was all but a done deal and hinted Toure was set for a move to Eastlands, something he now feels is not the case.

"There's a lot of interest in the deal (for Toure)," Seluk told Rac-1. "Arsène Wenger likes him and Arsenal are interested.

"If the conditions are good, everything can be finished soon.

"He could come into the Cesc deal and Barca and Arsenal are struggling to come to an agreement.

"Everything has changed with City, because they talk a lot but then afterwards they don't appear to be a rich club but rather a bankrupt one."

Barca confirmed today they had slapped a 35million euro price-tag on Toure, something which Seluk last week insisted was too high.

Toure was a key member of the Barca side that lifted six trophies in 2009 and he extended his stay at the Nou Camp only last summer, but he appeared to fall out of favour in the latter part of the season.

Barca president Joan Laporta is resigned to letting Toure go, and feels Arsenal must be prepared to do the same with Fabregas.

He said: "If a player of this characteristics, who also has the privilege of being Arsenal captain, announces to the club that he understands his time there has come to an end and he wants to continue his career at a club like Barca...

"I always want players in my club who want to be there and they should have that commitment.

"If a player shows legitimately that he does not want to be at Barca, immediately I open the doors and defend the interests of the club, but I try to reconcile them with those of the player and the buying club."

Looks like the City deal have fallen through. Yaya will probably continue to be linked with us every summer, but will probably never sign for us.

Everything Barca-related is incredibly annoying. Why is UNICEF associated with these twits again?

What really annoys me is that people who love watching good football and that is Barcelona don't have a clue that they behave like this. The media is so far up Barcelona's ass they have trouble seeing light and don't care about objectivity.

Because UNICEF themselves are a bunch of corrupt twits. But let's not get too political on here shall we ;)

So many say that Cesc wants away from Arsenal and now Barcelona want to sweeten the deal with a player who don't want to be at Arsenal before he's even gotten there. Sounds great! :roll:

This seemed to catch the eye: according to Barca -

Cesc = 29 mil

Yaya = 35 mil

No, seriously now.

A year's a long time in football. Last June, Yaya Toure seemed completely unobtainable - he'd just come off the back of an outstanding season, playing a big part in Barcelona's Treble winning season - the vast majority of arsenal fans would have given their right arm for him. Fast forward 12 months, and a season out in the cold, and it would seem people are not very interested.

I think it all depends on what we are going to do with Cesc, and what direction we want to go if Cesc leaves. If we want to move to a team more in the mould of our 2004 team, then Yaya Toure would surely be a great option as one of the "powerful midfielders" that would be needed.

Toure could certainly be a useful player if he were to come, but I just don't see it, nor am I sure i'd even want him here seeming as he's been so adamant in the past he doesn't want to join Arsenal. Even if the idea of let's say £30mil + Yaya for Cesc and then going out and buying Gourcuff an using a midfield 3 of Song, Yaya and Gourcuff does sound rather appealling.
