Young Caen striker Yoan Gouffran has been linked with a move to Girondins de Bordeaux since the climax of last season. It seems that a move may finally be completed in the very near future.
According to Bordeaux President Jean-Louis Triaud it is now only “a question of days” before the young French under-21 international joins the Ligue 1 runners-up.
Triaud has been chasing the quick young winger-come-forward for several weeks now but finally appears to a snared his man with a €7 million bid.
Gouffran, who will become the second signing at the Stade Chaban-Delmas this summer following the capture of Yoann Gourcuff on loan from AC Milan, has been offered a 4 year deal with the club.
Bordeaux had an offer turned down for the player earlier in the week and with Triaud's assertions that progress would have to be made by Friday it appeared that hopes of a deal were dying. Clearly great progress has been made since the end of the week and it now seems inevitable that the 22 year-old will be playing his football on the west-coast next term.
Gouffran has been coveted by several top clubs for months now. Around 12 months ago Arsenal seemed poised to swoop while in the January transfer window the player turned down a move to PSG.
We were last linked to him in 2007/2008.The 26-year-old caught the eye of a number of clubs around Europe with his 14 goals in an impressive season with the French side last time out.
Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Sunderland have all been linked with the forward in recent weeks.
