It was pretty obvious neny extending and Vieira signing that midfield is done. Zinchenko covering fullback and midfielders means defense is pretty sorted. Likely pepe out and winger in as the only other option.

The plan is probably sign him for 10-15 million in January if we need him through the season or throw a signing-on-bonus at him next summer if were looking okay.

I disagree. He gave a political answer to deflect a rumor by pointing out something currently true. But, players are moving on at some point.

Some nice passing there. What I like about him as well is he's used to quick releases to set the likes of Vardy & Daka away, too often at times we've been known to labour on the ball in midfield. With Jesus movement we should look to mix it up and play through the lines quicker at times, can also get the best out of Martinelli running in behind that way as well.

I haven't seen too much of Tielemans, but if we only consider his passing ability alone - oh boy, he's quite close to worldclass

The point remains that I have some issues with us ever losing Partey since we just dont have the legs anymore without him. That troubles more than another Xhaka'esque player with a bit more agility and quicker passing.

I agree, but Partey's position is the 1 position we haven't had any serious links to, so I doubt we'll make any signings there.

Im guessing the management team looked at Elneny's form when he came in for Partey (and actually ignored the results) and decided given the amount of positions we need filled, that position isn't a priority. Given Elneny only signed a short extension, I can see us spending on that next summer.

Two footed, receives on the half turn, banging shot, can tackle, can dribble, plays forward, range of passing.

The best thing about him is he has disguised passes like Partey and Ødegaard. Xhaka basically shows you where he is playing the ball by his body shape and one footedness.

We need this signing.
