Same links as on the Wijnaldum thread. If the Gourcouff rumour is alive, I think this should be as well

Not rubbishing this particular rumour, the Gourcouff rumour was reactivated because of direct quotes(very recent too) from Aulas and co, so there was a very definite link.

Yes, but this one is less depressing which compensates the lack of credibility :D

Might as well post this here as well

I believe this stories come about as one of our scouts were at the PSV game recently

I like him as a player (Wijnaldum), but couldn't see us ever going for him (isn't the type of AM/CM who'd really fit in here)

As for Bakkali, good prospect, but as i've said in another thread, we've got enough young prospects who can play on the wing. He won't be looking to leave PSV anytime soon either as he's just broke into the 1st team

Some years down the line though these might happen

Great prospect indeed, but seriously, he just broke into the first team this season.

There would be no point in getting him now, unless we loan him back to PSV.

Yeah this thread's good enough, it's stuff like caughtoffside that isn't remotely worth opening a new thread for. Bakkali's a massive prospect according to the Belgians, he's scored a hattrick in his last match and sounds like the next big thing. He's only 17 so if we were going to move for him it'd probably be now or next year, can't see it though

Would take both!!!

Wijnaldum is more proven player than Bakkali but Bakkali has potential to be a world class. Sign them both and loan Bakkali back to PSV, keep Wijnaldum he could take Rosicky/Podolski place

Both of them have stated that they will complete this season at PSV. Both had a good start of the season and if they continue that way, both should be potential transfer targets. 17 year old Bakkali is a winger with bags of talent. Wijnaldum had those bags with him for a while, but didn't live up to his potential so far. Decent peformances and stats, but nothing near were he could have been if he would have been more focussed and committed. Seems Cocu making him captain has had a very positive effect. Wijnaldum could well become one of the star performers for Holland at the next World Cup.

Strained a muscle though so he won't play tonight.

Oh I know he's in the Friendly squad, but no way he's making the WC squad unless theres some injuries

Think you're underestimating his football abilities. Apart from that van Gaal has said he'll go for physical fitness, because he thinks that will be key this WC. Unlike a few other players, Wijnaldum is very fit. Van Gaal will gor for the players he thinks he need. Names do not matter as his recent Sneijder diss showed.

TBF Bakkali would stroll in the Belgium squad if he keeps this up. He's better than Mertens and Chadli. Hazard + De Bruyne + Bakkali combination will be epic. ... if he chooses Belgium and not Morocco that is... :?

He has fantastic pace, technique, flair and the most exciting asset of them all - a very, very good shot.

Don't you think it's a little early for such conclusions  he's only just had his first call-up. Dutch league is some way off international level.

That being said he looks a talent for sure and his directness is most exciting.

Not sure what to think. Has potential to be world class but not sure if we need another youngster on th wing. I am really big fan of him, love to watch him play. Has amazing pace and great dribbling skills and he loves to beat defenders, exactly what we are missing on the wing. Maybe Wenger will go for him after missing out on Hazard. I still think Cazorla will be first choice on the left and Bakkali could be back-up for few years.

He's been awful since his return from injury, can't even make the PSV match day squad lately. Questions have been raised over his attitude as well.

He looked absolutely brilliant at the start of the season though and that potential must still be there, but he has to prove himself in the Dutch league for a few years.

He's barely 18 mate. Just because he isn't making the match day squad for PSV and he isn't performing well, doesn't mean all his potential and ability is gone. You can't expect someone of that age to be so consistent for a big club like PSV.
