Mohamed Elneny appears to be closing in on a move to Galatasaray.

The Egyptian has fallen out of favour with Unai Emery and is likely to play a bit-part role for the Spaniard if he remains in north London.

According to Turkish media outlet Ajansspor, Galatasaray are hopeful of signing Elneny on a temporary basis before the European window slams shut.

Elneny was limited to just eight Premier League outings last season. And he was not in the matchday squad as Arsenal beat Newcastle United on the opening weekend.

Emery did not seek out a centre-midfielder this summer, but does already have Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira to choose from. Whilst Joe Willock, who impressed at CAM at Newcastle is also comfortable in the middle of the park.

Calum Chambers and David Luiz can also play in midfield, which means leaving Arsenal presents the most sensible choice for Elneny.

With Galatasaray ready to offer the 27 year-old an escape, Elneny is said to be weighing up his options.
