Burnley wasted a host of guilt edge chances against Arsenal on Super Sunday.

The Clarets enjoyed several spells of dominance against Mikel Arteta’s side but failed to capitalise.

Arsenal’s opportunities came few and far between, but the Gunners were equally profligate in front of goal.

Following the match Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were singled out for criticism by Liverpool legend Graeme Souness.

Aubameyang, who has 14 Premier League goals so far returned to the XI after completing his three-match-ban.

The striker did come close when his close-range header whizzed past the post.

Lacazette is currently in the midst of a goal drought. And the Frenchman looked no closer to ending his eight game run without a goal (now 9 matches).

Aubameyang struggled to make an impression at Turf Moor

“They started the better, had several good chances, three good chances,” Souness said on Sky Sports (via Express).

“This is Ozil on the ball, finds Aubameyang, takes a couple of chances, gets it out his feet, whips it in and Lacazette’s got to do better there.

“Try and hit the target, you’ll see it from this angle, it’s a good bit wide.

“You’ve got to get closer than that from that sort of header.

“This is a delightful ball here, we criticise him for a lot David Luiz but he can certainly pass the ball.
