Arsenal can release a small sigh of relief after having their fears eased over the futures of Alexandre Lacazette’s links with Barcelona.

The Gunners striker took home the Player of the Season award after a superb Premier League campaign that saw him score 13 goals and claim 8 assists for Unai Emery’s side.

In total, Laca combined with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to net 50 goals and 17 assists between them with Aubameyang having shared the Premier League Golden Boot alongside Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane with 22 top-flight strikes.

Both strikers have since been linked with summer exits. Lacazette, in particular, has courted speculation surrounding a move to Barcelona.

Aubameyang finished the season joint top goal scorer (22 goals)

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has previously publicly declared playing for Real Madrid his “childhood dream” to a promise he made to his grandfather, who was born in Spain, and has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

However, Spanish football league expert Guillem Balague has called suggestions both strikers could leave Arsenal this summer.

Asked by one fan on his YouTube series ‘Ask Guillem’ whether there was truth to the rumours Real could sign Aubameyang and Barca were watching Lacazette, Balague said: “No. No.

“Neither of them are wanted by both teams.

“Top players of course but they’re not after either of them.

“Arsenal will have those two top strikers for another season at least.”
