Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is confident Arsenal will get over their defensive frailties.

The Gunners have conceded eight goals in their four league games so far. It doesn’t bode well for them to improve on the 51 conceded last term.

Unai Emery has brought a new playing style, of which his defenders and most notably goalkeeper Petr Cech are struggling to adapt to.

The veteran stopper has looked unconvincing and his wayward passing has almost resulted in some calamitous errors.

At the moment, the Gunners are still coming to turns with playing the ball out from the back. Its intention is to reduce the chance of ball turnover which happens so often during arial duels.

But Mustafi remains confident that the Emirates outfit will get it right in the not-too-distant future.

“It’s a process,” he told the official Arsenal website.

“We have tried everything in pre-season but then when you make a mistake in pre-season it’s not that bad.

It’s played 4: won 2, lost 2 so far this season

“In the Premier League you don’t want to make those mistakes.

“But you have to show your personality because we are a big football club with big players.

“We have to show the personality that we can play from the back because that’s our football and that’s how it suits us to play.

“We just have to keep working on that.

“Hopefully, in a few games, we’re going to look more comfortable.”
