Arsenal have put in an official offer for Gremio defender Walter Kannemann, according to reports coming out of Italy.
Italian media claim Sampdoria and Inter Milan were initially interested in signing the 28-year-old centre back but are set to miss out to Arsenal who have tabled a €12 Million bid with additional bonuses.
Unai Emery is desperate to recruit a centre half this summer following a shocking season at the back. Arsenal conceded 51 Premier League goals and picked up just one clean sheet on the road all season.

Kannemann is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in all of South America and is part of the long-standing back line, along with Pedro Geromel, that won the Copa Libertadores in 2017.
His performances have earned him five caps for Argentina, which have all come in the last 18 months.
