Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas has urged Unai Emery to start four key players against Napoli.

The Gunners take on the Serie A powerhouse in Thursday’s Europe League quarter-final first leg clash at the Emirates.

Like Arsenal, Napoli arrive with no hope of winning their domestic title, but could find success elsewhere.

Following Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat at Everton, former midfielder Nicholas has urged Arsenal boss Unai Emery to start Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang together up front.

While the Scot also wants to see both Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil start from the off.

Nicholas is keen to see Arsenal’s stars all start on Thursday night

‘Our home form is excellent, so I am pretty confident when we play at home,’ Nicholas said (via Metro Sport).

‘I have not been confident and never will be with this team defensively. They do not know how to defend.

‘Napoli are not brilliant. They had a draw at home at the weekend and are second in Serie A, but are not as strong as they used to be.

‘Unai Emery – please just play Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. He said how they are a strong combination but he is not playing them together.

‘I don’t get the decision to play Mohamed Elneny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan [both started Sunday’s Premier League fixture at Everton].

‘Aubameyang, Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil must start together on Thursday, and if they do, Arsenal will win.’
