Arsenal have made a late dive to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

The Gunners had been expected to settle with the five signings they’ve made.

However, it appears Unai Emery is keen to recruit another centre-half of allowing Calum Chambers to join Fulham on loan for the season.

Vide has made it well-known he is ready for a move to the Premier League.

And according to reports in the Standard, Arsenal could wrap up a deal worth £29.6m.

The Gunners had previously indicated they were willing to make a cash-plus-player offer – thought to be Danny Welbeck – but the Turkish club are keen on a straight sale.

Emery’s side do face competition from Liverpool, who are also eyeing a move for the Croatia international.

The Gunners, who have already brought in Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Matteo Guendouzi, have just one more day to complete any outstanding deals.
