Arsenal have been handed some good news ahead of their clash with Newcastle on Saturday.

Gunners captain Laurent Koscielny trained at the club’s London Colney training ground for the first time since May.

Koscielny has been out action since the Europa League semi-final second-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid.

The Frenchman was forced to be pulled from the match following after injuring his Achilles tendon.

Consequently, the 32 year-old who was set to retire after the this summer’s World Cup was unable to compete in the competition.

Koscielny is now back training with his teammates. He was joined by Alex Iwobi and former Gunner Robert Pires at the training base during this week’s international break.

The three time FA Cup winner is one of the Emirates outfit’s longest-serving players. It’s still uncertain when he’ll be back in action.

Gooners, if fit, does Koscielny start? Let us know in the comments…
