Gunners set to return for Ligue 1 sensation

Lemar is yet to find the net for Monaco this season.

According to reports, Arsenal will make a fresh bid for Thomas Lemar in January.

The Gunners failed in their efforts of signing the Monaco winger this summer despite reportedly submitting three separate bids for the 22 year-old.

Lemar was the subject of a £92m offer from Arsenal on transfer deadline day, but was suggested to have turned down the last minute move to the Emirates.

Now The Sun are reporting that Arsene Wenger’s side have not given up in their pursuit and will launch a fresh bid for the ace in the New Year.

Lemar may be more open to a move after Monaco’s less than impressive start to the Ligue 1 campaign. The French champions slip to 3rd place, as well as finishing bottom of their group in the Champion League.

Wenger admitted that it’s possible Alexis Sanchez could leave the club in January – a move for Lemar could open the door for his exit.
