Arsenal midfielder Denis Suarez has suffered a major injury blow ahead of tonight’s Europa League quarter-final second leg showdown with Napoli.
Suarez, who has rarely featured for Arsenal since arriving on loan from Barcelona in January has remained in London for treatment on a groin problem which saw him miss the 1-0 win over Watford on Monday night.
The news was confirmed via the club’s official website on Wednesday.
“Groin. Stayed in London for treatment,” a statement reads.
It’s just another setback for the Spaniard who is desperately struggling to make a positive impression on the Arsenal fans and his manager – Emery is still yet to hand him a Premier League start.
It is expected Suarez will leave north London after his loan spell comes to an end and the Gunners will need to look elsewhere to find a replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey.
