Arsenal’s deal for Dani Ceballos is still set to go ahead, despite the serious knee injury Marco Asensio suffered when Real Madrid faced the Gunners in Tuesday’s pre-season friendly.

Asensio tore his cruciate ligament in Madrid’s 3-2 penalty shootout victory.

There were concerns that Asensio’s horror injury might scupper Arsenal’s move for Ceballos as Madrid look to fill the void left by the 23-year-old.

But according to The Sun, Unai Emery’s side have been informed that Ceballos will still put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal at the Emirates.

Real Madrid are also expected to offload Gareth Bale this summer. The Welshman came on to score against the Gunners, but his future appears to be away from the Bernebeu.

Bale is now thought to be close to be leaving Real after seeing his relationship with Zidane deteriorate. The Real manager has faced criticism over the way he has handled the winger’s potential departure.
