Long time Arsenal target Geoffrey Kondogbia is reportedly nearing a move to Inter Milan having agreed terms with the Italian outfit. The big Frenchman is now due in Milan for a medical ahead of a five year deal, bringing an end to what was expected to be a protracted summer saga.

Arsenal were among the host of clubs said to be interested in the promising young midfielder but are set to miss out on his services. Has Wenger missed out one a gem? Kondogbia is a fantastic ball winner and centre midfield player, so on those grounds you would have to say yes.

Tall, strong, physical, and robust, Kondogbia would indeed fit the bill as the ball winner Arsenal have been searching for. From the outside looking in, this may appear to be a massive opportunity missed. However, in Wenger’s defence, the boss may have something else up his sleeve in the form of Sporting man William Carvalho.

If he can manage to pull of the coup, I suspect all will be forgiven.

Kondogbia has seen his stock rise dramatically over the past few seasons after impressive showings for both Monaco and France.  He is an absolute bruiser of a man, using every inch of his 6’2 frame to get stuck into challenges. He has good pace across the ground as well and has a real eye for snuffing out danger.

He would add something to Arsenal’s midfield without a doubt, but let’s trust Wenger has a plan. What do you think gooners? Has Arsenal missed out or does bigger and better things await?
