Thierry Henry will more than likely be ruled out of Arsenal’s title defence opener and Arsene Wenger looks likely to rest the striker against Everton.
Henry did start the Community Shield match against Manchester United on the weekend, but Wenger is still thinking of giving him time to heal his injured achilles tendon properly.
Henry being rested means the partnership of Dennis Bergkamp and Jose Antonio Reyes will continue at Goodison Park. Robin van Persie may even make a substitute’s appearance, too.
Other injured players include Freddie Ljungberg (ribs), Robert Pires (calf) and Sol Campbell (achilles). However the first two are expected to make the trip up to Merseyside this weekend.
