Thierry Henry is out of the running to take over at Aston Villa, reports say.

The Arsenal legend rejected Aston Villa’s offer to succeed Steve Bruce.

Monaco are now set to name former Arsenal and France striker as their new manager.

It comes after the Ligue 1 giants opted to sack Leonardo Jardim, according to sources close to the French giants.

Monaco have been faltering this season. It’s just one win from their first nine games as they sit in the relegation zone.

The club also had considered Robert Pires for the position, while River Plate coach Marcelo Gallardo and former Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc were also candidates.

Henry left his role as a pundit with Sky Sports in the summer in order to focus on his ambition of becoming a manager, and is currently part of Roberto Martinez’s backroom staff with Belgium.

The Arsenal legend now looks set for his first head coach role.
