18-year-old Frenchman Gael Clichy has received special praise from fellow countryman, Thierry Henry.
After playing an important role against Manchester United on Sunday, Henry complimented his compatriot on an extraordinary performance in a high pressure game.
“I would like to pay tribute to Gael Clichy because he had an incredible match,” said Henry.
“He is 18-years-old and he could have felt the pressure of having to play Manchester United, particularly as a defender.”
“He is playing just like he has been in the team for years. He is really extraordinary.”
Also on the receiving end of more Henry praise was Dennis Bergkamp.
At 34, Dennis is by no means scoring as many as he used to in his 20s, but his superb vision and timely passing still make him an invaluable asset to the side.
“The timing of his passing is outstanding,” said Henry.
“I’ve played with so many players. He does not do tricks like Zinedine Zidane but I don’t know if any other player can see the game as well and as fast as he does.”
“Everyone who has played with Dennis will tell you how great he is.”
