Arsenal and Manchester could find themselves in the Champions League next season if the current campaign is not complete.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced UEFA to consider several options should the domestic season be scrapped.

UEFA chiefs met with the 55 national associations via a video conference on Tuesday and it was agreed to attempt to press ahead with restarting leagues by June

However, if the killer bug continues to enforce a lockdown and the season is voided, The Sun claim, UEFA have told the associations to use their coefficient scores to decide which teams will play in the European competitions next year.

Champions League nights could return at the Emirates

Both the Gunners and the Red Devils are currently outside the Premier League’s top four, but based on the coefficient tally, Arsenal and Manchester United would both qualify for next season’s competition, along with Liverpool and Manchester City.

Tottenham, however, would be bumped up to Champions League football if Man City’s two-year European ban is upheld.

Champions League qualification would increase Arsenal’s buying power in the transfer window and may even convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to remain at the Emirates.

The players would also be reimbursed on their 12.5% pay-cut agreement which starts this month.
