Arsenal put five past Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday to move into 5th place in the Premier League.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexander Lacazette helped seal the win, but it was far from a faultless performance.

Despite Arsenal’s early pressure, it was Everton who opened the scoring. Granit Xhaka was dispossessed by Idrissa Gueye, who immediately poked the ball towards Wayne Rooney. And England’s record goalscorer’s 25-yard effort was too much for the outstretched Petr Cech.

Xhaka was not a popular man with Arsenal fans following last weekend’s performance at Watford and the midfielder was slaughtered by Gooners on Sunday for dithering on the ball so close to his team’s goal.

Last season, the Swiss midfielder was forgiven for his crimes, however Gooners have shown no leniency this time around.

The fans appear to have made their mind up about the 25 year-old. Check out what they’ve had to say on Twitter…
