Arsenal legend Ian Wright says his old side must make big tactical changes if their to beat Chelsea this weekend.

The Gunners failed to give Unai Emery a fairy tale start to his Arsenal career losing 2-0 to Manchester City.

It’s early days of course, but a defeat to Chelsea on Saturday could see the north Londoners fall six points down on City who began the season where they left off last year.

And Gunners hero Wright was disappointed with the tactics against the Premier League holders.

“At this level against this Man City team you need to 100 per cent execute the game plan,” he wrote on Twitter.

Emery suffered a defeat in his first game

“For large parts of that game I didn’t know what that was and you get punished for that tactical uncertainty.

“There are some big positional and personnel decisions to be made ahead of the Chelsea game on Saturday.

“Patience required but Unai will be under no illusions after watching that game today.”

Emery handed out debuts to Matteo Guendouzi, Sokratis Papapstathopolous, Lucas Torreira and Stephan Lichsteiner in Sunday’s defeat.

Germany goalkeeper Bernd Leno is waiting in the wings for his first appearance.
