We will likely see two makeshift sides at 15:00 on Saturday as the Black Cats travel to the Emirates as the 7/1 underdogs. Getting things back on track after the disappointment last week will be the priority and with United dropping points against Chelsea we’ll be able to ramp up the pressure with a victory here.

The bookmakers have Arsenal are the slim 2/5 favourites with the draw paying in the neighborhood of 7/2.

One wonders if this is the best time for Arsenal to be playing against Sunderland as they tend to be a bit of a bogey side for us – we’ve only won once in the past five fixtures. Steve Bruce’s side are in the middle of a tough losing skid having been beaten in their last four.

Look for Samir Nasri to find a bit of extra space today in midfield. He’s priced at even money for a goal at any point and that’s not a bad selection if you think Arsenal get the win here. Chamakh and Bendtner are the only players listed at shorter prices than Nasri.

One to keep your eye on is the impending return of Aaron Ramsey – who receives a 5/2 price for an anytime goal.

Sunderland’s away record against us is definitely poor but they’ve been able to pull off some impressive performances this season, taking a victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and drawing with Spurs at White Hart Lane.

It seems to be a matter of which Sunderland team shows up for this one.

There certainly isn’t much value in backing us outright so the (-1.0) handicap selection paying out at even money is probably the better option if you’re looking for a decent return. Backing a lower-scoring affair, possibly under 1.5 total goals, would reward at 6/4.

With confidence not exactly at it’s highest point ever, shipping an early goal wouldn’t be out of the question. This can add plenty of value to your payout if you think we’ll be able to pull off the result after going a goal down. Arsenal to come from behind and win pays out at an impressive 8/1.
