Arsenal have made numerous headlines this summer but the closure of the transfer window means that the Gunners can focus on their football, having handed themselves a boost following a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth this weekend.

The Gunners boast a 100% record at the Emirates Stadium this season, though they’ve lost both of their two away matches in the Premier League so far, and are set for a big week as they commence their Europa League campaign against FC Koln before clashing with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Due to the huge clash with the Blues this weekend, rotation is expected in Thursday’s European clash but Arsene Wenger has stated he will still play a strong side- and two big names are set to feature in the starting line-up.

The SunĀ reports that injury-stricken midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to make his long awaited return for the Gunners in the match with FC Koln, which would be his first appearance for Arsenal in 13 months- last appearing in a Premier League clash with Watford.

Player of the Year Alexis Sanchez, who saw a Deadline Day move to Manchester City collapse a few weeks ago, is also in-line to start as Wenger looks to get the two-time Copa America winner up to full fitness for the crucial games ahead.

Alexis came off the bench during the 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, with Danny Welbeck starting ahead of him and impressing by scoring a brace.
