Arsenal have been handed a huge fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s clash against Manchester United at the Emirates after Alexis Sanchez participated in Friday’s training session.

The forward was a doubt for this weekend’s showdown after injuring his hamstring in Wedneday’s 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town.

The Chilean, who scored for the third consecutive game hobbled after 73minutes – though Arsene Wenger stressed it was just a precaution.

And the protective decision appears to have paid off as today Sanchez completed a full session at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.

The 28 year-old has six months left on his current contract at the Emirates and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. Fortunately for Arsenal, Sanchez is hitting form at the right time as we head into this festive fixture pile-up.

Arsenal will certainly be without top Alexandre Lacazette though – the Frenchman who was hauled off at half-time has not recovered from a groin problem.
