Arsenal’s battle to keep hold of their key-players during the final weeks of the transfer window could be set to be even sterner, with fresh reports suggesting another ace is attracting interest.

Italian outlet Gianluca Di Marzio state that Inter Milan have expressed an interest in signing Shkodran Mustafi from Arsenal and have contacted the German defender’s agent to gauge any interest in a move to the San Siro.

Mustafi arrived from Valencia last summer in a £34m deal and made a big impression in the first few months of his return to the Premier League, before enduring some shaky form towards the back-end of the season.

Arsenal still value Mustafi highly though and he’s set to be an important part of the Gunners set-up this season, especially if they continue with a three-man defence, and Wenger is unlikely to give-up on a player he splashed such a high figure on last summer.
