Plenty of stories continue to emerge on Arsenal from the recent transfer window, stating what might have been, and the latest claim has come from a young talent in Italy.

Inter Milan new boy Yann Karamoh joined the San Siro side on-loan from French outfit Caen on Deadline Day, in a deal that will become permanent after the 19-year-old spends two-years with the Italian giants.

Karamoh made an instant impression in his first season of senior football with Caen last season, scoring five goals in 36 games- raising interest from across Europe for his services.

Football365 quote the teenager as telling Premium Sport that Arsenal were amongst the clubs who tried to land his services before he completed a late move to Inter Milan.

“I’ve come to a new team and for me it’s important that they’re betting on me. PSG were waiting to make a move for me, and Arsenal contacted my agents. There was also interest from Monaco and Lyon, but I decided to come here.”

“Italian football is new for me, there’s much more quality here than in France, you could see that last year in Monaco-Juventus [the Champions League semi-final won 4-1 on aggregate by the Italians].”

It’s not clear where Karamoh would have fit-in at Arsenal, as he would have certainly been behind Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette in the pecking order, but his arrival may have led to an exit for Chuba Akpom.
