Introducing Facebook Comments

If you’re a regular user of our commenting system, you’ll notice that we’ve recently replaced our previous commenting system – Disqus – with Facebook Comments.

We’ve received some complaints (as always when you change something on a website) but the general consensus is that the quality of comments have improved and that was a key objective for us.

We didn’t want a website where spammers could just come on the site and post anything, lowering the quality of the discussion on the website.

Some of you have asked why can’t you login with your Hotmail or Twitter accounts – this is out of our control and is down to the relationships between Facebook and those other major providers.

There also some of you who have asked why are parts of your Facebook bio (like company or school) are displayed in the comments – again, this is something that is out of our control but can be adjusted from within your Facebook profiles.
