Arsenal fans have had their fair share of players to take the fall for their failings over the years.

From William Gallas to Andre Arshavin to Olivier Giroud. More recently, it’s been Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Aaron Ramsey who have had spells as the local scapegoat.

Now, it appears Granit Xhaka is the latest sacrificial lamb whenever something goes wrong in North London.

The Swiss midfielder has by no means enjoyed a successful start to the season – a stat recently claimed Xhaka as the most inaccurate passer of the ball so far this season. The 25 year-old has misplaced 153 passes, more than any other Premier League player.

However, it is important to get behind players who are enduring a difficult period. Both Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal have bounced back superbly, while Aaron Ramsey is beginning to shine. And Xhaka has the ability to do just the same.

The North London derby represents the perfect game for fans to rally behind the team, and offer support for Xhaka in particular.
