Jamie Carragher has compared Chelsea to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal following the Blues’ humiliating 6-0 defeat to Manchester City.

A Sergio Aguero double after Raheem Sterling’s opener was followed by a strike from Ilkay Gundogan to leave Chelsea reeling – and with 45 minutes still to play.

The Premier League champions went on to score twice more, with Aguero completing his hat-trick and Sterling grabbing a second.

This embarrassing loss saw Sarri’s side drop below Arsenal in the table thanks to a -6 hit to their goal difference.
Many Chelsea fans have already turned on the Italian, and Sky Sports pundit Carragher was particularly scathing of Sarri, telling TV viewers that the former Napoli boss has turned the Blues into the new Arsenal.

“I’ve called Chelsea a disgrace before this season,” he said. “This is as bad as anything we’ve seen from them.

“Looking at Sarri, okay, he’s only been there half a season.

“But the worst thing I can say is he’s turned Chelsea into Arsenal.

“[The Arsenal] who got battered away from home because they were too weak. We’re watching a really weak football team here.”

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal infamously lost 5-1 to Liverpool in 2014, 6-0 to Chelsea in 2014 and were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich twice in the Champions League.

Unai Emery’s side who lost 3-1 to Manchester City a fortnight ago, have also suffered a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool this season.
