England striker Jamie Vardy has stood firm on his decision to reject Arsenal, insisting that he made the right call.

The Leicester City star turned down a big money move to The Emirates last summer to remain at the King Power following their remarkable run from relegation favourites to Premier League glory.

Last season saw Leicester reach the latter stages of the Champions League, but they failed miserably in their domestic title defence. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger’s lifted the FA Cup in May.

But Vardy has no regrets in snubbing the North Londoners.

“It was my choice to turn Arsenal down. It was just coming up with the positives and negatives, and I came up with a decision and I’m pleased with the decision I made,” he told the Telegraph.

“They had qualified for the Champions League for the last 20 years or something, until last year. That was something to think about. But Leicester were also in the Champions League and on a different night at home against Atletico Madrid we could have gone even further.”

Asked about the FA Cup success, Vardy replied: “But it weren’t the Premier League, was it?”

The England international found the net 11 times in the league last season and will be aiming to improve n that tally this term. Vardy has already found the net three times in 2016/17, including a brace at The Emirates on the opening day.

Gooners, could Vardy have done a job for Arsenal? Let us know in the comments…
