Arsenal managerial target Massimiliano Allegri has been advised to leave Juventus this summer and join the Gunners by his mentor Giovanni Galeone, according to quotes published by Metro.

The Italian boss is believed to be top of Arsenal’s wish-list if Arsene Wenger decides to walk this summer, with the long-serving Frenchman seeing his deal expire at the end of the campaign, but the Gunners will face a struggle to land Allegri’s services.

Juventus sealed their place in the Champions League quarter-finals following a 3-0 aggregate victory over Porto and the Italian champions are making progress to establish themselves amongst the continent’s elite once again, following the match-fixing scandal that rocked Italian football a decade ago.

However, despite the progress Juventus are making under Allegri, Giovanni Galeone has advised the boss to jump ship this summer and build an ‘exciting’ Arsenal side. Speaking to Il Messaggero, he said:

‘I do not know if his cycle with Juventus is over but I told him: “After winning so much, it’s time so say enough!” It’s not easy to leave Juventus but I hope he will go abroad.I think he’d do better in England than in Spain.’

‘[Arsenal are] a historic club. It will depend on Wenger’s decision. Massimiliano could build an exciting, fun team keeping with tradition there. Arsenal have players that could adapt to his style. It could be [a good fit].’
