So, we know that Arsenal will start the 2024/25 Premier League season with a home match versus Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday 17th August and finish the season on Sunday 25th May away at Southampton, but what are the other key dates for the upcoming season? The full list of Premier League fixtures can be found here.
Key Premier League Information:
There will be thirty-three weekends, four midweek rounds of matches and one bank holiday match. The Premier League have made arrangements to allow for more rest time over the festive period, which will mean no club playing within 60 hours of another match and there will also be no matches played on Christmas Eve.
The season will start on the 17th of August 2024, which means the mid-season break has been removed from the calendar. This has been done to allow all Premier League clubs to ensure all of their players get a three-week break instead of a short break in the winter.
Cup Final Dates:
The Community Shield will take place on Saturday 10th August, the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday 16th March and the FA Cup Final will take place on Saturday 17th May. All of these matches will, of course, take place at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal will enter the third round of the FA Cup during the weekend of January 10th and 11th.
The Champions League Final will be held on Saturday 31st May at the Allianz Arena in Munich (Germany). The Europa League Final will be played on Wednesday 21st May at the Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao (Spain), with the UEFA Conference League Final a week later on Wednesday 28th May at the Stadion Wrocław in Wrocław (Poland).
Summer Transfer Window:
The window will close on Friday 30th August at 23:00 UK time.
The Premier League brought forward Deadline Day to link up with the other major leagues in Europe. The closing dates were set following discussions with the leagues in England, Italy, Germany, France and Spain.
International Dates:
According to the FIFA men’s international match calendar, breaks are scheduled for the 1st to 9th of September, the 6th to 14th of October and the 10th to 18th of November, 2024 for England’s fresh Nations League campaign.
Another international break takes place from the 23rd to the 31st of March, as qualifying for the 2026 World Cup begins.
