Alexandre Lacazette admits Arsenal’s title hopes are over after last weekend’s draw at Southampton.

The Gunners currently trail 17 points behind leaders Manchester City just 16 games into the season and have only picked up one point from their previous two games

Lacazette, who has started brightly for the Gunners in his debut season admits the team’s main objective is now securing a top four place.

“It would be really complicated to win it at this point,” said the Gunners striker when asked about a potential tilt at the title (via Sky Sports).

“We would really need a miracle. City would need to lose a lot of their games and we know their record. But the goal in coming here was always to qualify for the Champions League and if we could get the title, fantastic.”

Lacazette has netted eight times in the Premier League and continues to keep Olivier Giroud out of the starting XI.

Whether the Frenchman can keep Oli out the side will be a tough ask – Giroud continues to impress and netted a late equaliser againt Southampton last weekend.
