Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has been forced to pull out of the France squad due to injury just hours after he was called up as a replacement for the injured Anthony Martial.

Martial was named in Les Blues squad for upcoming games against Netherlands and Uruguay after an excellent run of form that has seen him score six times in his last five Premier League appearances.

However, the Manchester United striker was forced to withdraw as a result of a groin injury.

Didier Deschamps’ side called up Alexandre Lacazette on Monday afternoon. However the Gunners striker has also suffered a similar injury.

Lacazette will now be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League fixture at Bournemouth on November 25.

It’s a frustrating blow for the Frenchman. He won the last of his 16 France caps a year ago and missed out on Didier Deschamps’ victorious World Cup squad.
