Laurent Koscielny looks set to get his wish in leaving Arsenal this summer, reports claim.
The defender who refused to join his teammates in pre-season after being denied an exit has rejeceted several attempts from head coach Unai Emery to persuade him to see out the final year of his existing contract.
The 33 year-old is now on the verge of completing a £4.6m switch to join Bordeaux.
Koscielny demanded to be released from that obligation altogether and granted a free transfer but Arsenal in recognition of his nine-year service to Arsenal. The club dismissed that suggestion but reluctantly allowed him to leave only if they received a fee.
Koscielny’s medical ahead of the switch has been pencilled in for Tuesday.
The Frenchman arrived at the Emirates in 2010 after being plucked by Arsene Wenger from the lower leagues of French football.
He has gone on to captain the side and lift three FA Cups in 255 appearances for the north Londoners.
His decision force of a move has been a bitter way to end his near-decade association with Arsenal.
