Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has revealed what an Arsenal ‘insider’ told him about big training changes under Unai Emery.

The Gunners have shown signs of improvement this season under their new manager. Arsenal are 12 points better off than they were at this stage last campaign under Arsene Wenger.

And Dixon may have revealed one of the reasons his old side are much improved.

The right-back who made over 600 appearances at Highbury, explained how the clubs training sessions differ from those under Arsene Wenger.

“The training intensity and the accountability in training with what is expected of them has gone up,” Dixon told talkSport.

Emery has the squad working harder in training

“I know that for a fact because I’ve still got a few people knocking around the training ground that I can ask how things are going.

“The little insider has kind of said training has completely changed in that respect, which I think’s a good thing.”

Dixon played 616 times for the Gunners in a 14-career before calling time on his career in 2002.

The ex-defender, turned pundit clearly still has friends at the club who can keep him well informed about what is going on.
