Arsenal and Liverpool have received a huge boost in their pursuits of Monaco star Thomas Lemar, reports say.
The Premier League duo have frequently been linked with a mega-money swoop for the sought-after French international, 22.
But Monaco have stood firm and desperately want him to sign a contract extension beyond June 2020.However, talkSPORT via French publication L’Equipe claim Lemar has rejected talks with the Ligue 1 outfit, and wants to keep his future transfer options open.
Monaco rejected a £92m bid from Arsenal for their star man last summer – after signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January it’s uncertain just how Lemar would fit into the Gunners attack.
However, following the exits of Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck could also head for the Emirates exit this summer. The forward is out out of contract at the end of next season, but Arsenal may choose to cash in on the former Manchester United man.
