Mikel Arteta has hinted at a debut for Cedric Soares ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s men welcome Mikel Arteta’s side to the Etihad in a rearranged Prem clash on Wednesday night.

Kevin de Bruyne could return to the Man City line-up after missing the weekend’s defeat at Old Trafford with a shoulder injury.

Sergio Aguero is also a doubt after limping off with a thigh injury in the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.

Arsenal, meanwhile, will be without Lucas Torreira after he was ruled out for 10 weeks with an ankle injury.

Portuguese full-back Cedric Soares is yet to make an appearance since arriving from Southampton on loan back in January.

Freddie Ljungberg couldn’t avoid defeat for his team back in December

When asked if Soares and Shkodran Mustafi are in the frame to play against City, Arteta said: “I think they will be available to play.

“Hopefully everyone will be able to train tomorrow and we’ll pick the best players we can.”

Pablo Mari impressed on his home debut during Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Ham. The Spaniard could also get the nod.
